What to expect?
ARRIVAL: Upon presentation, you’ll be greeted by one of our reception team members who will facilitate your paperwork and call for a medical member to triage your pet. The triage member will first ask some brief questions to help the medical team best interpret your pet’s symptoms and determine their stability. They will bring your pet to the treatment area to measure vital signs and alert the doctors to get your pet examined. This entails obtaining temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, +/- blood pressure/oxygen level and EKG if indicated.
You may be asked to sign an immediate stabilization authorization form to facilitate your pet’s care until you can speak with one of our veterinarians. This form enables us to provide critical and life-saving treatments for your pet if indicated. You may fill this out ahead of time if you desire.
Please fill this out ahead of time if possible. If not, we will present this to you on arrival.
After triage, your pet will likely remain in the treatment area with the medical team while the doctor consults with you in an examination room. At that time, a treatment plan will be presented for your review and approval.
ADMISSION/FINANCES: One you and your Veterinarian have discussed the diagnostic and treatment plan, you will be provided a low-end to high-end cost estimate for this plan. You will be asked to leave a deposit of the low-end of the estimate. This can be done via cash, check, credit card, or third-party financing. We know cost can be a factor in care and a stressful decision time. Our goal is to be very transparent of costs and we will contact you with an adjusted estimated treatment plan should recommendations change as treatment progresses. We do work with some insurance companies, so please let us know if your pet has insurance. Please do not hesitate to speak with our team if you have any questions about this process.
After finishing this paperwork, you can visit the treatment room where your pet will be hospitalized and treated while in our care if you desire.
We do allow leaving of comfort items for your pet including their own bed or clothing if you desire. That being said, if they get soiled, they are often put through our general wash. Therefore, please do not leave anything that cannot be washed.
TREATMENT: Once admitted (regardless of length of stay), your pet will be under continuous observation and care. We have a dedicated team in the treatment room at all times to provide this care.
UPDATES/VISITS: Although we do not offer 24-hr care, your pet may be hospitalized with us for over 12 hrs. If you desire, visitation is allowed- up to 2 people in the treatment room at a time. Length of visit can vary depending on the needs of your pet.
